Facility

MorningStar is a ministry of the Grace Brethren Church of Lititz and meets in the church building. The Early Childhood wing was added in 1990 and consists of 10 rooms dedicated to educational use and two nurseries totaling over 15,000 square feet. Each room is equipped with a small refrigerator and sink. Nine of the 12 rooms have an attached bathroom. A full size gymnasium (10,000 square feet) is used for indoor physical activities. Two outdoor playgrounds and a full sized baseball/soccer field provide physical activity during good weather. A commercial kitchen, annually inspected by U.S. Department of Public Welfare and U.S. Department of Agriculture is used to make the daily lunches.

Computers
MorningStar is aware of and values the importance of computer technology in the lives of young children. Each classroom is equipped with computers. Important skills such as eye hand coordination, one to one correspondence, and cause and effect relationships are just a few of the many benefits to young children through computer technology. Academic skills reinforced include math and reading.

Fire Drills
MorningStar conducts a monthly fire drill in an attempt to keep the children and staff prepared for an evacuation at all times.

Security
All employees of Grace Church, MorningStar Christian Daycare, Preschool & Kindergarten and Lititz Christian School wear photo identification badges that identify them as staff members. Additionally, all the exterior doors are locked during the school day - daycare parents and teachers have "electronic keys" that allow them access to the building.

The 10,000 sq. ft. gym gives children an opportunity for physical activity even during bad weather The MorningStar Playground With staff supervision, the enclosed courtyard, gives toddlers a chance to play freely outdoors, yet still confined to a small area In bad weather, the covered drop off/pick up area allows parents and children to stay dry as they enter/exit the facility
